Omiage

'Omiage' is a souvenir that people bring back when they have travelled to a different part of Japan. The types of gifts that people generally bring are biscuits or cakes. These are usually wrapped individually so that people can hand them out easily. I often get to work in the morning and see a small package on my desk which is usually a type of biscuit or cake. I really like receiving omiage :-)

Here is an example of an omiage that one of my University students bought back for me from Hokkaido.
